Ready for the Unexpected?

Maybe you are and maybe you are not ready for a crisis…But, that is neither here nor there when it happens.

Actually, one of the most important duties that you can execute is to simply be prepared for the unexpected. That sounds counterintuitive since you cannot prepare for what you do not know will happen. Aha! You’re right!

But, as a leader, you can hopefully draw upon a variety of experiences to ensure that you apply a set of skills developed over time. For me, I have compiled a breadth of experience over three decades to share what I can to further enhance and support you in your leadership journey.

Rather than scrambling for answers or finger-pointing during a crisis, leaders must pull groups and followers together to help others, aide, and rescue.

Here are two resources that I recommend from a page in my book of leadership experiences.

First, I can share is a download from my book, Leadership Building Blocks: An Insider’s Guide to Success. You can gather practical steps I outlined in how leaders can through Managing During a Crisis.

Also, you might consider downloading a complimentary Crisis Leadership Checklist that will provide you the framework to get started and to move through a crisis situation with some recommended strategies. In this 8-page guide, I include key strategies for leaders to explore, referrals to other tools include a webinar series and a forthcoming crisis leadership challenge.
