Leaders: Get to Work

blogpost cover sheetIn recent weeks, it has become clear that 2021 will be another exciting and historical year.

Since January, there have been unparalleled changes on the social, political, and economic levels nationwide. Now more than ever, leaders must check their egos at the door and get to work.

But, what does that dedication and “work” look like? First, it means that leaders are committed to working diligently to ensure transparency. With decisions made, leaders must be clear about their intent and focus. At no time in history has there been more complexity with an unprecedented global pandemic, racial unrest, questions about social justice, and economic hardships.

Also, leaders must show up ready to work collaboratively. It had and has become evident that command and control leadership styles have not worked and will not be effective now. Never before have leaders across party lines, industries, and social status been required to find common ground. There is a need to work in tandem not warring against each other.

If we fast forward 50 years and the history books will tell the story about what leaders did…or did not do.
