What Would Good Leaders Do?

Without question, there are times when we see deplorable leadership in action. We see this in our communities, our government, and in the private sector. With a lack of foresight to lead others and set a good example, followers have no other choice than to be left confused.

But, with some training or re-tooling, good leaders can become great. Renowned author Jim Collins penned “Good to Great” to help leaders learn how to cut corners in their leadership development and abilities. He shares that “if I were running a company today, I would have one priority above all others: to acquire as many of the best people as I could. I’d put off everything else to fill my bus. Because things are going to come back. My flywheel is going to start to turn. And the single biggest constraint on the success of my organization is the ability to get and to hang on to enough of the right people.”

There is no way to around it. Good leaders must acquire effective skills, a competent team, and as definitive strategy. Alternatives and sidetracking is not optional for optimal leadership today.
