How many leaders does it take to have a positive outcome? The answer is simple: Every single leader who is able. With more turmoil and trauma now in the world than ever it is vital for our leaders to have the right outlook and best possible training.
Without question, we have watched the television news stories about leadership gone awry and we shake our heads in disbelief. We listen to tragic tales about out-of-control maniacs at the helm while scratching our heads wondering about any accountability.
But, pondering a better way to tackle political challenges or legal dynamics makes us pause and think further. How many times have we seen leaders who sit perched at the decision-making table only to discover that they have been the de facto leader for decades with little or no formal training? Bottom line: It is time for a better approach.
This is the time for every leader to take person responsibility for their actions and step up to the plate. For some, it means getting the appropriate training and resources to stay on the right track. Sure, some classes and coaching might even be the answer. Or, it might be good old fashioned mentoring that will do the trick.
Whatever the end result is, someone needs to do something. Fast! The longer we have to witness governance gone haywire and thwarted negotiations the more we lose faith in those who purportedly stand ready to lead.
At the end of the day it is time for our leaders to get a plan and take action. There is no vote, debate, or discussion on this. Leaders everywhere: stand up and be counted.
