Courageous Leaders Roar Silently

Mary Anne Radmacher once said that “Courage does not always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, “I will try again tomorrow.” How true these are in a world that expects leaders to broadcast their capabilities widely.

Some leaders are told to tout their accomplishments. Others are interested in showcasing their talents. But, is it more important for leaders to demonstrate leadership abilities by showing the world or by having the courage to do so consistently?

First Ladies Lead The Way

Throughout history, there are numerous examples of leadership. Take for example leading first ladies, wives of American presidents. History captures their poise, contributions, and also their support for presidential figures.

But, looking closer at their contributions as leading ladies helps to shed light on their own path as leaders. With or without their men to support them, they have been examples of solid leaders. Listening to their words, inspirational messages, and advocacy, there is a lot to learn about their leading roles. Here are a few brief examples of their wisdom.
