Tis the Season For No Folly!

It might be the time to gather with family and friends to celebrate holidays, but it is also a time for leaders to be relentless.

Without collective wisdom as the voice of reason, we are subject to taking on new projects, starting endeavors, and trying new initiatives without making progress. Now that is foolishness! Instead, it is the time for leaders to step up and take charge.

Leading the Way Holiday Style

As the holidays approach, hours in the day will quickly slip away. Starting this weekend, many people will all be running around in circles trying to make travel plans to visit family or getting our holiday shopping done.

Businesses abbreviate hours, schools close, and we all seemingly transform ordinary weekends into extended long-distance visits. Daylight savings time will settle in and somehow the hours we have to complete projects will become limited, right? Wrong!

Absence of Fear

Recently I watched a Public Broadcasting System program, Freedom Songs: The Music of the Civil Rights Movement and I was reminded of a quote from Paulo Coehlo. He once said that “One has to understand that being brave is not the absence of fear but rather strength to keep on going despite the fear.” How poignant that he had the wisdom to see the multiple faces of courage.
